What I love about symphonic metal is that it taps into a whole other vein of heaviness. The choirs, the strings, the brass...it was exactly where metal needed to go. I never would have thought of incorporating sopranos, but I can't deny it works. Metalheads owe a huge debt to Tuomas and Tarja.
